1982 Fender Statocaster
(Frankenstrat)
The only original parts on this Monster
are the neck and the body.
It has 2 separate circuits with 2 separate
jacks. The bridge and middle pickups
are EMG active and work with the 5 position
switch, tone & volume controls.
The neck pickup is a stereo Bartolini
connected to a stereo jack.
With one push/pull knob it toggles between
4 and 2 or 3 and 3 (strings)
With the other push/pull knob it toggles
between single coil and humbucking mode.
It was built so that a mono cord in the
stereo jack could route the 3 lower strings
into a harmony machine set for 1 octave
lower. Then you could play guitar and bass
at the same time (well maybe you couldn't,
but I could . .)
Add the drum machine and it sounds like
a 3 or 4 piece band.
After about 7 or 8 beers it starts
to look like one, too !
It's a great guitar in any case . . .
